aussielent customer Nicholas and his dad Dmitry have just completed the incredible achievement of the 2017 Marathon des Sables (MDS). This multiday race is held every year in southern Morocco, across the harsh terrain of the Sahara. Known as the toughest footrace on earth, MDS is a six-day, 237km ultramarathon, which is approximately the distance of six regular marathons - or 42 hours of running time! The longest single stage is 86km long.
After testing possible nutrition solutions for the race, Nick and Dmitry settled on using aussielent for the majority of their nutrition during the race, keeping things streamlined and drastically cutting down on their meal prep time in the evenings. Nick added some coffee to his aussielent breakfasts to keep himself sane, and supplemented with dates, nutbars and some Hydrolyte.
